Memorial Day Snow Camping

Samantha has been asking to go snow camping all winter. I kept telling her to trust me, it would be much more enjoyable in the spring when the days were long and the nights warmer than in the dead of winter. So, not knowing exactly what the conditions would be, or where exactly we'd end up, we headed up to Tahoe. The Whelpleys were game as always, so we parked at the PSC and headed up towards Donner Summit for as perfect a night as you can imagine! It wasn't exactly snow camping because there were spectacular dry spots on the granite, but we snowshoed in. No reason to get wet when you don't have to.
The following day we skied Squaw Valley in our board shorts and tee shirts!
Getting ready to head out...

I went out to gather firewood and when I returned Samantha had set up the tent! I did not even have to ask her. That made my heart swell with pride. She even put it on a nice flat spot. 'atta girl!

What's not to smile about?

Lounging like lazy lizards

Pretty epic campsite! I feel like I use "epic" too much, but sometimes there's just lots of epic things to describe.
