The plan was to have a Tea Party-themed birthday. We'd go up the hill, run around, play on the slide, swing on the rope swing and get all our energy out before heading back for cake and treats. Turns out Mother nature sent us some much needed, but inconvenient rain. So we called an audible, and kept 19 little girls occupied for 3 hours in our small house. What follows is a chronicle of events...

| There were two 1st graders in attendance. One of them won the "guess how many?" gummi bears were in the jar game (137 by the way). It was funny seeing the older girls try to peer pressure her into opening the jar. I guess it starts early. I'm glad she stood up to them, so when she got home she could hand them all over to mom and dad, where actually she will have no influence over their fate. |

| I love that this rainbow on Sammie's birthday starts right on top of the hospital where she was born (left side). No doubt, if we were to follow it to the other side it would end at a toy store that served ice cream and sold ponies. |

She had great representation: childhood friends, neighbors, a cousin, friends from her old school and plenty of friends from her new school. Sorry, no boys allowed at this tea party.
One of the highlights of the day was the mummy wrapping game. This had to be the first time in history when this many girls got together and didn't run out of toilet paper.

Rather than explain the mayhem that ensued, just watch the video...
We did manage to make it up to the slide for a short while during a break in the rain...
