Destination: Mt. Tamalpais Summit

Ya gotta love it. After 2 weeks off from school for Christmas and New Years break, Samantha's school welcomes her back with...Monday off for teacher's in-service! I've never proven it, but I think this is the day the teachers bring in all their left over booze from the holidays, form a conga line in the cafeteria and dance around doing shots while gossiping about all of God's little germ incubators. But I digress...

She's been wanting to go for a climb lately, so we took the opportunity to hike Mt. Tam today. We parked about 1/3 of the way up, but still got in 1,600 vertical feet and 5.5 trail miles. The best part was she had a fantastic attitude that didn't require bribery! Though she did earn a smoothie for her efforts...

A beautiful waterfall...

There was a lot of water flowing

Contemplating the size of the fish in Lake Lagunitas

Is that a bear or a bobcat or a dirty hippy coming our way?

Free climbing a 5.6

Cleaned it!

I'm on top of the world!
