Like all good and patriotic Americans, we decided to spend a week over the 4th of July in Mexico! We flew into Merida, rented a car and spent time in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, then back to Merida for a couple days. It was a fabulous trip!

| At the Fairmont Mayakoba |

| Isla Mujeres. Where Burning Man art projects go to die. |
| Playa Norte, Isla Mujeres |
| Isla Mujeres |
| Fairmont Mayakoba, Playa Del Carmen. Highly recommend staying here. |
| We had a private boat tour of the canals through the mangroves and cenotes |
| An alligator napping in the sun. There is tons of wildlife in the mangroves. |
| Trail to the beach in Tulum |
| The shell hunter |
| Lucky shot of a rock in mid-air |
| Flyin' a kite |
| bringin' it in. We must have got it up to about 1,000 ft. there was a lot of string on that spool. |
| In Merida at Chocolate & Roses Hotel |
| The pool. The hotel is owned by the guy who started the Italian soccer clothing brand Lotto. He combined 2 old colonial mansions into an 18 room hotel. It was the perfect collision of money and good taste. |
| Searching for tadpoles |
| Not quite the warm ocean, but still pretty nice. |
| Samantha did not believe that we went for a ride in a horse carriage after dinner. Here's the proof! |
| She actually had some fun lifting weights. That's for you Grandma Judi! Lady be fit, lady be strong! |
